Caramel Pecan Brownies

Super easy to make and unbelievably good, this is a favorite to take to bake sales (if I can smuggle them out of the house).

Heat oven to 350 °F and grease an 8x8x2 pan.
Brownie:

1/2 c butter
2 oz chocolate chips
1 c sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c flour
1/2 c chopped pecans

Frosting:

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp milk
1/2 c powdered sugar

Melt butter and chocolate chips. Cool slightly. Gently fold in eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts. Overstirring will cause the brownies to fall, so treat this batter gently. Bake in a greased 8x8x2 pan for 30 mins.

For frosting, melt butter and brown sugar together until bubbly. Remove from  heat. Gradually whisk in milk, then powdered sugar.

Frost brownies while still warm. Allow to cool completely, then cut and remove from pans.
