Voros Kaposzta (Red Cabbage)

Voros Kaposzta

A creamy, deep purple side dish in our traditional Hoffman Mikulás feast.

½ of a medium red cabbage
2 Tbsp. butter
¼ cup water
1 Tbsp. vinegar
½ cup sour cream

Wash cabbage & cut into thin strips. Braise cabbage strips in butter in large skillet until glassy. Add vinegar & water. Cover and cook on low heat until tender (~30 minutes). Stir in sour cream, heat through and serve.

Yields: about 6 servings
