This recipe came from Great Aunt Marge (Roger’s Aunt). It was a special treat on Halloween nights spent at home with Mom!
2 eggs
1 C sugar
2 tsp oil
1 C milk
3 C flour
½ tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
Hardware
electric skillet or fryer
frying oil
doughnut maker
Heat at least 1½” oil in skillet or fryer to 375°F. Beat eggs and sugar. Add oil, then add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Mix together thoroughly. Fill doughnut maker and fry donuts in oil until golden.
Yields: about 2 dozen doughnuts
