This sweet, tart sauce is delicious on gingerbread, and other rolls and pastries as well.
1/2 c sugar
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 c boiling water
2 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
Blend dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients and allow butter to melt. Whisk all together until smooth and serve while still warm.
