Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Angie received this recipe from a friend online – it makes homemade pizza parties not only fun, but easy!

1⅓ C water
2 tsp sugar
1¼ tsp salt
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp cornmeal
3¼ C bread flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
1½ tsp yeast
*You will obviously need a bread machine, and it would be great to have a pizza stone, too.

Add ingredients to bread machine, according to manufacturer’s settings (usually goes like this: wet first, gently lay the dry on top, then make an indentation in the pile of dry for the yeast to sit in), then run dough setting. After the machine finishes, roll out the dough.

Dough can be refrigerated for later use (up to 1 week) if lubricated with a tiny bit of olive oil and placed in a zip-top bag with as much air squeezed out as possible.

Yields: two medium pizzas or one large pizza with an order of breadsticks

Time to make: depends on your bread machine

Notes: For our favorite pizza, crank oven to as high as it can go with pizza stone inside. Roll out the dough and add sauce and toppings, then bake on a pizza stone for 7-8 minutes. For breadsticks, bake at 450°F for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
